Norway? No Way!

Maelstrom

You are not the first to pass this way. Will you be the last?

THIS RESTROOM HAS BEEN RETIRED!  SEE ITS REPLACEMENT HERE

With a maelstrom (it means big scary whirlpool.  Look it up) forming surrounding the future of the attraction, I figure I’d better discuss Norway’s restrooms before they change, for better or worse.

Epcot Norway

Beauty and charm.

The country of Norway is beautiful, and the attraction honoring Norway is just as beautiful.  It is one of only two countries in the World Showcase to boast a ride.  Its town square and post-ride village are modeled after real Norwegian places such as Bergen, Oslo, Alesund, Setesdal, and Arendelle…

Epcot Norway

I saw what you did there.

Before the ladies of Frozen set up shop here, Norway was moderately busy, owing to the Maelstrom boat ride.  Nestled between Mexico and Norway was the restroom, complete with Pet Stop.

Hund Toalettet.

The restroom used to be comparatively sleepy, what with Odyssey so close by and all World Showcase restaurants having accompanying restrooms.

With the arrival of the Frozen Royals however, this place became a madhouse.  Lines stretched to five hours in length.  Because of this, what was once a quiet place to stop became crazy.  The royal sisters have since moved on to more Fantastical pastures (for now), and Norway has returned to its previous moderate crowds (for now).

Epcot Norway

A moderate crowd of trolls.

What does that mean for you?  It means this country/restroom cannot be missed!

Disney Restroom

Antlers in the decorating. Gaston’s showing up next.

In case you haven’t had enough princesses, you can stop and have lunch here at Restaurant Akershus, which is Norwegian for “puke food”.  You will definitely need to use the restroom after that.  Also, visit the Stave Church and be confused about who exactly you should be worshipping.

Stave Church at Epcot

Christ or Norse Gods?

And of course, experience the Maelstrom before it’s too late.  For you Hidden Mickey crazies fans, arguably the most famous one in Epcot is found here.

Norway Mural

Not even my favorite one on this mural.

Then, stop one last time at those restrooms.  Get some relief, then off to country #1 in your drinking trip around the World.

Mexico

Viva Tequila!
