Aloha Oy!

Disney Restrooms

Ugh.

Once upon a time there was a magical place called The Magic Kingdom.  And in this magically Magic Kingdom, there were many magical lands.

Magic Kingdom

All sorts of cool stuff in here.

One such land is the magical land of Adventure, featuring trees, boats, birds, and carpets.

Pirates of the Caribbean

And pirates.

Another land is the magical land of the Frontier, featuring mountains, trains, boats, and bears.

But the most magical place of all is the magical walkway, or “breezeway,” between these two magical lands.  Well, it used to be magical anyway.  Around the corner from Aloha Isle from the Adventureland side, and from the Diamond Horseshoe from the Frontierland side, this “breezeway” once housed excellent restrooms.  These restrooms were excellent because they were rarely used.  Now this “breezeway” houses terrible restrooms.  These restrooms are terrible because of one thing: Fastpass+.

Haunted Mansion

Fastpass+ is so helpful against long lines.

Yes, the breezeway between Adventureland and Frontierland is now a proud home of a Fastpass+ station.  As a result, there’s a major crowd here pretty much all the time.  What was once a quiet, relaxing reprieve from the hustle-bustle is now another member of the infamous crowded mess.  These restrooms, in contrast to days gone by, are very busy!

It ain’t like this in there.

This used to be a great spot to go.  It is not close to any long-wait attractions, so there was never a long wait for the restroom.  Nobody says, “Hey, let’s hit the bathroom before a magic carpet ride!”  Also, there is a large abundance of restrooms around this breezeway.  This is due to the large abundance of restaurants nearby.  More restaurants always means more restrooms!  This restroom was even greater an asset during those rare occasions when the Diamond Horseshoe was actually open.  That helped to suck in the Country Bear set.

But, those were the good old days.  Now, avoid this breezeway at all costs!  Even though we Restroom Adventurers (and by “we”, I include you, Gentle Reader) mourn the loss of yet another quiet place, there are plenty of other options nearby:

On the Frontierland side, as an alternative option, may I suggest my personal favorite, the Columbia Harbour House?  This is across the street from the Tangled attraction/restrooms/park/recharging station, but that place is busy!  Plus, you can get great food and view there.

Bring back what once was mine…a fully charged cell phone battery.

On the Adventureland side, why not instead drop anchor in the quiet cove on the Spanish Main?

X marks the spot…X Atencio, that is.
